Hanley Mellon S/S2015

For first time starters Hanley Mellon; their spring 2015 collection shows promise and a smart execution out of the gate showing only 19 looks. The inspiration for spring was Kenya which incorporated touches of color accessories on the clothes. The entire show space had a African feel with tall grass surrounding the models.

The standout pieces which there are quite a few are the African Print Coat as well the Suede Coat and the white high waisted pants.  Husband and wife team Nicole and Matthew Mellon have a clear vision for their company which makes this one to watch down the road. The upper east side crowd was in the room so this potentially is a collection that might attract them? Nevertheless the clothing looks well made so fall next season looks promising!
