Kara Laricks S/S 2013=SMALL BUT MIGHTY
Strength, edge, sophistication and simplicity are words that come to mind for first time out designer Kara Laricks. Showing a small fifteen piece collection this designer has sent out a focused line while at the same time playing it safe with black pieces yet showing beautifully cut dresses with street edge!
For a first out designer Ms. Laricks ran a gate to wine collection that never looked back, and only showing fifteen looks helped the cause tremendously by showcasing what she's all about. This is one to look for!
She is a grateful designer, she is special.

Charlotte Ronson S/S 2013
Designer Charlotte Ronson has come a long way in a very short amount of time, her spring S/S 2013 showed variation and focus along with wonder colorful patters and prints. The use of silks and leather makes this a collection of variety, the offerings of hard and soft dressing is something we don't see everyday from designers, the bags she paired with the models completed looks the for the runway and was refreshing to see.

Social Primer S/S 2013 Preppy Rides Again!
K. Cooper Ray the designer of Social Primer picked the perfect location of the University Club in New york City to show his collection at fashion week. The combination of Ivy league schools and this style of dress meshed seamlessly! We all know this is a classic look and has been done time and time again but what is fun and stylish are Mr. Ray's colorful ties which brings a serious style statement to his collection. The combination of different patterns create the color/patters break from knot to tie? Brilliant! This is by far one of the most exciting neckwear collections I have ever seen and the return to stylish prep dressing is always a pleasure to see.

Lauren Moffatt S/S 2013
For S/S 2013 Lauren Moffatt drew inspiration from the long gone era of lawn tennis. There were around 20 something pieces which projected a young youthful take on what some may call a retro collection. Floral prints and polkadots abound, this collection is playful and does not take away from women who want to accessorize their looks, not to mention some of the dresses work very well with heels.
Jonathan Cohen S/S 2013 Floral On Fire
It seems that Jonathan Cohen is still letting mother nature guide his design hand for his Spring 2013 collection. This season Mr. Cohen took bunches of flowers, dried them, then set them ablaze and photographed them! This translated into wonderful deep color prints which he's applied to dresses, tops and pants. As well he has expanded the collection to around 45 pieces which is a jump from previous seasons, according to the designer he's had a 65% sell through rate for his current fall collection!
What still draws me to this designer is his willingness to take chances in a volatile retail marketplace, but I feel its these kind of designers who are offering something new and fresh.

Mimi Plange S/S 2013....Mimi's tea time
For spring 2013 Mimi Plange went back to a simpler time with the concept of tea time with her mother. The collection is a color palette of dusty pinks and soft greens with tea cup style floral prints. By far this is the most embellished collection to date with a full length gown and wrap around beading as her center piece of the presentation. Other look have dresses with pleat details, the standout piece was a simple pleated pink dress with flowers.
From following this designer for four years, she seems to be a designer of extremes with past collections being more current of todays style. Anna Wintour may have said it best "Fashion's about looking forward, not looking back".
