Trina Turk To Show in Miami For Mercedes~Benz Swim Week

The Trina Turk collection showing at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim incorporates unique prints in a range of colors including sophisticated use of black and white to multi-colored patterns of free flowing shapes.  A significant amount of emphasis and detail is placed on hardware throughout the collection going beyond the typical loops and rings to a sophisticated use of unique pieces in gold inspired by Trina Turk’s signature patterns and her love of vintage jewelry and architecture. Trina Turk draws inspiration for this season’s collection from the city of Acapulco in the 1960’s & 1970’s, an era known for glamorous getaways by Hollywood’s rich and famous and the international jetset.

Douglas Hannant Resort 2011

The inspiration for Douglas Hannant's 2011 resort show was based on Palm Spring and Slim Aarons photos from the 1950's. Showing a full twenty nine piece collection he certainly delivered on his promise with a few extras as well. His black on white circular print pieces seemed to work the best and could have been the foundation for the whole collection. The time travel Palm Beach/Slim Aarons pieces where spot on but with Mr. Hannant's customer base of society ladies are they willing to go back in time to achieve this look? Also tossed in were multi-colored splatter print Jackson Pollack dresses which reminded us of his Basquiat Fall collection from last season, potential extras to fill in this collection?   By far his best work are the simple pieces he creates, his pants are to die for and his jackets retain that silhouette he's perfected all these years but twenty nine pieces could have been edited down to nineteen and been much more meaningful to his audience.

Shaving for most men is a daily event with not much fun and with not the right equipment can be a task that's done more than once. Over the past five years many companies have produced products for the shaving ritual, some great some not! The new Caswell-Massey 1752 line we can proudly place in the great category. We used two products: "Pre-shave oil and Lather shave creme". The first and aspect to this line is the Almond scent infused inside, there's no off putting smell and in truth makes us think of pastries when we opened it up.  The oil consistency is not to thick so application is smooth and easy and the shave cream goes on even and smooth, we used a shaving brush and did not have to apply that much to cover our face. The end result was a one application close shave. The trick to the shaving product is not to apply to much, doing so will "gunk up" your razor making you repeat the process.

The resort collection of Callula Lillibelle is a thought process of effortless dressing which goes from day to evening with most of their pieces. Overall the collection is small and focused with a restricted color pallete thusly allowing easy mix and match. Day looks range from flowing tops and smartly cut pants to colorful cocktail dresses for evening. A major draw to this line is the price point which is around $300 which in our opinion is very affordable and that the clothing is very well made. As we viewed the pieces, there were no threads hanging out and the seams of the clothes were well stitched! We feel that if your going to add to your wardrobe and make a semi-substantial investment it needs to be worth it, Callula Lilibelle shows investment potential!

Mandarina Duck has come out with a new special edition fragrance entitled Pure Black which was inspired from its first  outing of "Man". The new eau de toilette is complex in nature with six different notes such as Tangerine, Pepper, Tiara flower, Orange flower, Sandalwood and Madagascar Vanilla just to name a few.
