EO Shaving Products For Men

We got some new shaving products from the company EO, which is an organic company based out of California. The company has a full line of natural, organic items for all aspects of the skin and body.

We were given the opportunity to test run a few of their shaving items for men. The two products we tested were the EO shave cream and after shave splash. The shave cream pumps out in a light lotion and not much is needed to cover the face. When shaving there is a definite low drag resistance regarding the razor. This translates into a smooth shave and the razor glides over your face. Since the product is a lotion and not a heavy cream the razor does not build up with product. The company's low suds lather concept thusly allows for a closer shave. Additional ingredients like soy proteins , aloe vera, vitamin A&E aid in tissue repair for the skin.

EO's Tea Tree & Lemon after shave is a alcohol and paraben free product which incorporates witch hazel, algae and mugwort, which are healing properties for the skin. The infusion of tea tree and jojoba act as a natural moisturizer. The after shave is non-stinging and has a pleasant lemon scent when applied.

We like the fact that EO has incorporated natural ingredients into their line of products and the company is serious about good skin care. Another reason why we are supporting this line is that they offer their products at a very reasonable price point. The majority of their shaving line runs just under ten dollars and with their shave cream, weighing in at 5 fl oz, your getting a lot of product for your money.

Acme Made Laptop and Camera Cases~ A Cut Above

Most laptop cases we come across are just plain and bland. Yes they do provide the protection we all desire for our precious laptops but the style factor lacks! If your looking to upgrade from the dull and boring look towards Acme Made laptop and camera cases.

The difference from these bags is that they provide more storage then the traditional cases. The Kate is a laptop and designer handbag but has the ability to carry other items due to its slanted flat front pockets. Items like keys, cell phones and wallets and be stowed away and the added bonus is the fashion forward design to this case/handbag.

As for camera bags, Acme's The Bowler is designed for digital slr cameras and has a classic bowling ball bag look and feel. The interior of the bag is fully padded and offers full protection.

The majority of the cases and bags Acme sells come in different colors to suit your personal style. Prices for these items range from $39.95 for the bowler and $99.99 for the kate. Bags are sold throughout the country via boutiques and department stores. You can also buy them directly from Acme Made at www.acmemade.com

The Madison Avenue Retail Report

In better times of our economy retail spaces played musical chairs with luxury houses, trading up to bigger spaces or better locations allowing smaller companies to join what we refer to as the Worth Avenue of New York. As the recession has dragged on its quite evident that the game has grounded to a halt with spaces sitting vacant waiting for anybody to occupy them.

The most prominent space is the one where The Sharper Image once stood between 72nd & 73rd street. The space was vacated in August 2007 and is still waiting for a company to move in. A few block up on 76th Street a new player has moved in Nanette Lepore. The space is quite large and the design layout is quite tasteful for the Upper East Side crowd, but the question remains does the Nanette Lepore customer reside here? The coming months lay ahead and we will see if she can survive this most uncertain  marketplace.

Back to 72nd Street a major move which happened was the complete demolition of the Polo Ralph Lauren space. We do not know if the company owns the space or land  but it has been served with a complete stop work order. For as long as we have lived on the Upper East Side it's the first time any real estate space has been leveled to the ground, creating an eye sore for the community and could be a noise issue for the residents of 740 Park Avenue if and when construction resumes.

As we moved down the avenue to the upper to mid 60's Krizia let go of their space and moved to another location a few blocks away. As for rumors of a high end Italian fashion house moving out on 70th Street nothing yet has happened. They do have a space on 5th Avenue but no plans have been set.

The latest victim seems to be Lambertson Truex which moved into their space on Madison Ave only one year ago but due to a chapter 11 filing has been forced to shut it's doors.

If current trends continue we feel more stores will be moving out leaving Madison Avenue a retailers wasteland. At the moment some stores are holding sales to stay afloat such as Chanel which in previous years has never had a sale for it's goods.

Custo Barcelona's New Venture Into Fragrance

Long time Custo Barcelona fans now have a new avenue to express themselves with the release of the companies new fragrance for women. The new scent is a first for the company and is sure to draw worldwide attention due to the global playfulness of the clothing line. The building blocks for the fragrance are fruit derived with top notes of bitter orange, Calabrian lemon, pink grapefruit and Mediterranean bergamot. Middle and bottom notes are wild strawberry, orange blossom, lemon tree wood and amber and musk.

We were surprised that with all the fruit infused in the fragrance it would come off being a sweet scent but the amber and musk cuts this factor down making it a well balanced scent. It's good to see that designer Custo Dalmau ventures into a new direction for his company.

Douglas Hannant Resort 09/10

We had the chance to view the resort collection from Douglas Hannant which drew it's inspiration from a gypsy Bohemian theme. As usual Mr. Hannant provides his ladies with options for the season such as stovepipe pants and light fabric dresses done in light sherbet colors. To note, a new aspect to his design is the mix of print and geometric patterns. Along side the outfit's; jewelry and shoes made an appearance which will be available in August alongside his street level store located in the Plaza lobby on 59Th Street in New York City.

No matter what the season maybe Mr. Hannant possess a few things that makes his clothing such a success! A loyal customer base, a commitment of providing looks for his ladies and a level of consistency we have never seen with any other designer. This combination makes Douglas Hannant the go to designer for the society set.
