Timex Fall 2008 Collection

The first watch you probably ever got was a Timex, marking a transition from childhood into the adult world it made you look at the world, your life differently. Timex has come a long way over the years and has followed watch trends as they moved forward. The Fall 2008 collection offers a variety of women's and men's styles to compliment any occasion. For the ladies the company has aligned themselves with Swarovski crystals giving some of their time pieces a more ladylike feel. As well Timex has tracked the trend of women wearing larger men's style watches, a trend we has noticed over the past six months. Regarding the men's line it's very bold and masculine. The two major offerings style wise are elegant leather strap watches for more high end dressing and there sports diving pieces done is black. We where drawn to the black sports line due to it's dials and buttons, very tech and very complex. The 2008 Timex line will be available in late August for consumers. If you would like more information on Timex their websitewww.timex.com provides there current offerings.

Marlies Dekkers lingerie & swim wear

Most americans have not hear of Marlies Dekkers lingerie since the company has a mostly European pressance. Based in Holland and with a fifteen year track record and nine stores throughout Europe it has staked it's claim overseas.

Designer Marlies Dekkers motto regarding her line and customers is "Dare to be". She considers the woman's body to be her canvas and embraces its beautiful parts with the modern straps in her designs. What we took away from the preview was the use of straps and details she incorporates in her lingerie and swim wear production. It is very obvious that this designer has a much different take on how traditional bras and panties should be made. The core construction is there but it's the attention to detail and her use of straps that set's this line apart from any other lingerie lines we have seen before. She also takes this approach to her swim wear.

The prices for this line range between $20 to $200 and up depending upon what catches your eyes but this European designer is running with companies with competitive pricing. Panties can start at $20 and bras $150.00, we saw one with micro Swarovski details.

At the moment the line is beign sold at the Wynn in Las Vegas and plans for a shop in the Plaza hotel in New York city are underway. More information on this company can be found at www.marliesdekkers.com

Ports 1961 Resort 2009

For designer Tia Cibani her 2009 resort collection goes back in time to the classic 50's more accurately the Lucille Ball era. As we watched the collection it seems we where transported to a simpler time in America, when mom still made apple pies.

The clothing is tailored and has classic structure, a theme we have seen in previous collections and the Americana theme runs deep with this resort collection. Our stand out pick is the multi color skirt suit. The only problem is that it seems to fly in the face of the Cibani customer and more so, mom does not make apple pies anymore.

Hollywould 2009 Cruise Collection

Creative director Holly Dunlap knows how to produce a cruise collection! We have always believed and have stated before that cruise/resort are destination clothes with a clear focus in mind. Well Ms. Dunlap has the focus for 2009, her collection has a full range of just about everything a woman could want for the cruise season. The colors for her collection range from sand to mango and rainbow sherbet ice cream.

What sets this collection apart from others is the full range that she has which includes shoes and bags. These pieces pull together a complete look for the cruise season which other designers fail to create may it be financial or otherwise. Prints and python skins can be found in the collection and with these additions it shows that Holly Dunlap does her homework and has got radar screen tuned to what's hot in the ever changing fashion market. If Hollywould was a stock it's a strong "buy" in our opinion.

Ellen Tracy Resort 2009

According to the staff at Ellen Tracy the inspiration for the 2009 resort collection is a mix between Greek and Navy. The problem which left us stumped was the fact that we could not see any references towards either inspiration. In our opinion resort is a break away from fall and spring seasons, giving women options to be original in their mode of dress.

As for the showroom atmosphere if you want to look at everything it's all there; fall, spring and resort packed into one big room. We needed direction on where the resort was housed due to the magnitude of clothing on display.

If your looking for understated tailored pieces this line is for you. There is a wide selection of jackets, slacks and simple tops to update your wardrobe but we found some of Ellen Tracy's fabric choices a little heavy for the resort season.
